Rapper Jay-Z is planning to produce a remake of the 1977 classic Broadway musical “Annie,” featuring Willow Smith, 10, who is signed to the rapper’s record label, Roc Nation. It was officially announced by Overbrook Entertainment.

“The Overbrook Entertainment family and I have a unified vision. We’ve already produced a Tony Award winning play and we’re developing a true superstar in Willow,” Jay-Z said in a statement.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, James Lassiter and Jay-Z will co-invest in the project. They were also teamed up as co-producers of the Broadway production “Fela!” which earned 11 Tony Award nominations in 2010.
