Cambridge city manager Robert Healy announced Friday that he, and thus the city, will not appeal the Supreme Judicial Court’s $4.5 million discrimination verdict, the Globe reported.
The suit accused Healy and his staff of retaliation against former city employee Malvina Monteiro after she filed a race discrimination lawsuit.
The case was filed in 2003 and has risen to $7.7 million with interest and legal fees.
Healy said he was disappointed with the court’s decision but added that it was “time for closure,” the Globe reported.
