Sorry “Uncharted” fans. Naughty Dog confirmed that the next game in the seminal PlayStation franchise will be coming out on May 10.

That’s two weeks after the previous release date of April 26, or an entire lifetime if you have been waiting for the gorgeous killer app the past couple of years.

Luckily, the delay has little to do with quality concerns, as President and CEO of SCEA Shawn Layden points out:

In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

So this is not some bizarre production hell. They just want to make sure plenty of people get their hands on Nathan Drake’s final adventure.

And from what we have seen of the trailers, it is looking to hold the standard of quality set forth by the previous games in the franchise.
