The upcoming NetherRealm Studios game “Mortal Kombat X,” has just released a trailer announcing the game’s extension to mobile platforms.

“Mortal Kombat X” for mobile devices will be free-to-play, feature a fighting/card-battler hybrid, and involve multiplayer team combat.

The developers have mentioned that the mobile and console versions will be linked and players can earn rewards for their console version by progressing in the mobile.

The Mortal Kombat series is one of the longest running fighting game series and is known for its often excessively gory nature.

“Mortal Kombat X” will be the first game in the series to arrive on the PS4 and Xbox One.

“Mortal Kombat X” for consoles will be released on April 14 of this year and the mobile version will be released sometime in April.
