After providing loyal customers with over six years with rewards, gifts, and redeemable games for over six years, Club Nintendo is shutting down. The website will remain live until its final day on July 1, and participants can still redeem prizes and register their games until certain dates:

  • 1/20/2015 – Products released after this date are not eligible for registration with Club Nintendo
  • 3/31/2015 – Last day to earn Coins, register products with Club Nintendo, and sign up for new Club Nintendo membership
  • 6/30/2015 – Last day to redeem Coins or access your account on the Club Nintendo website.

Club_NintendoAdditionally, anyone with a Club Nintendo account as of March 31 will receive a download code for Flipnote Studio 3D, an app that lets users create their own animations and share them with friends via local wireless.

Nintendo also plans to beef up its selection of physical prizes to let participants clean out their balance of coins before it shuts down in July. Gold and Platinum hopefuls have until March 31 to register their games and collect 300 and 600 coins respectively to acquire Elite Status. Following last year’s lukewarm selection of prizes, let’s hope Club Nintendo goes down with a bang and offers up some great rewards for its final year.

Nintendo also plans to announce a new customer loyalty program at a later date.
