It is going to be a white (and green and pink and blue and yellow) Christmas as Apple gears up for a holiday season that puts a lot of their products underneath the tree.

In fact, new research released today lists the Apple iPhone as the number one on the “want” list for youths between 12 and 17.

A survey of more than 500 teenagers on the sites Ebates.com, which was fielded by TNS, showed that as many as 88 percent of teens want their holiday gifts to be of the electronic variety.

The Apple iPhone snagged the top spot on the teen wish list with 32 percent, followed by the Apple iPod at 24 percent. Sony Play Station ranked 3rd at 20 percent and the Xbox One tied with the Apple iPod at 13 percent.

For those teenagers who did not place electronics at the top of their list, they agreed with their parents that a gift card to their favorite store is the ideal present to receive this holiday season. Clothes, shoes, and makeup were also top picks among the teens who were surveyed.

The EBates Holiday Gift Survey also showed that most parents know what their kids want. In fact, 54 percent put Apple products in the top slot for their teen’s holiday wish lists.

In the toys category, 20 percent of adults said Legos would make an appearance as gifts for their young kids. Big Hugs Elmo scored 12 percent, and Skylanders ranked in at 9 percent.

The survey also showed that 1/3 of adults are already planning to spend between $150 and $500 on gifts this holiday season. Another 22 percent plan to spend between $500 and $1,000. One out of every ten adults already admits that they plan to spend more than $1,000 on gifts this year.

Ebates has also created a new app of iPhone users that helps them save at popular stores and websites like Target, Wal-Mart, Sephora, Groupon, Sears, JC Penny, GAP, and Toys R Us.

Ebates.com is also getting ready to offer Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that help their users save big on holiday gifts.
