50130Nearly everything about the female body changes when you’re pregnant. Your hair can get thicker, your nails can grow faster, and your skin can change. Luckily for me, my skin problems remain the same (although they haven’t improved I’d rather them stay the same versus get worse). Even though my skin hasn’t changed, I wanted to start a new skincare regimen because I wanted to use a product that would get my breakouts under control, but wouldn’t contain harsh chemicals that aren’t safe to use while pregnant.

My sister gave me her bottle of Belli’s Acne Cleansing Facial Wash to try since it is intended to be used by pregnant women. I had never heard of Belli before so I was a bit skeptical as to how well it would work. After using the face wash a few times (quite sporadically mind you) I asked an esthetician at my sister’s work what I can do about my skin and she recommended the Belli line. Since two people recommended this product I figured it was time to give it a real try.

I must say, after continual use of this stuff my face was really starting to improve! The reason I say it “was” starting to improve is because I can’t seem to commit to removing my makeup and washing my face every night. It is a horrible habit that I need to break, but that is a story for another time.

From the company’s website: “An exfoliating wash; rich in powerful pore-cleansing ingredients that leaves skin clear and refined, without over-drying.

The Good:

  • Doesn’t contain common acne fighting ingredients that should be avoided during pregnancy (such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and glycolic acid.)
  • Contains lemon peel oil (a skin brightener and a natural anti-bacterial) along with green tea extract and cucumber, both are rich in antioxidants.
  • Contains lactic acid (safe to use while pregnant) which cleanses and gently exfoliates acne prone skin.

The Bad: The price may be a bit high for some; you get 6.7oz of product for $22.00. If a product works well and you like it, sometimes you can’t let a price tag intimidate you.

The Ugly: NONE!

Would I Buy Again? Although I didn’t purchase the bottle I have, I am willing to buy another one once I run out.

Would I Recommend? Absolutely! If you’re nervous about the price tag, try to get a sample. You can always try before you buy maybe you’ll be able to decide whether or not you like it.

Bottom Line: This is a great product! My skin feels refreshed after I wash it, unlike other acne products that can leave my skin feeling dry and tight. I’m interested in checking out the other products from Belli.
