Okami first came out on PlayStation 2 in 2006 and let players take on the role of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu as she roamed the ancient lands of Nippon in her quest to purify the world from evil. The game was then released on Nintendo’s Wii with added motion controls, which gave players a more natural way of painting the various symbols with the Celestial Brush that gave Amaterasu abilities to affect her surroundings.

Six years after the release of the original, an HD version of the game will be making its way to PlayStation Network as a downloadable title. Okami HD will be available this fall for $19.99 and will come with an assortment of trophies and Move controls that will let players wield their brushes like the Sun Goddess herself.

Okami is a long game with plenty of quests to complete and characters to befriend along the way. Are the revamped graphics and motion controls reason enough to embark on another journey with Amaterasu?
