Back in the 90s, you could attach your game SNES or Genesis game onto a Game Genie cartridge and give yourself infinite lives, mess with the game’s gravity, or simply unlock all of its secrets without even trying. It disappeared for a while, but now the nifty peripheral is making its return in a whole new way.

At E3, Hyperkin will be debuting its Game Genie: Save Editor program that lets PlayStation 3 users transfer their save files onto their PCs using an included USB device, overwrite them with the included cheats, and then transfer them back onto their consoles. The Game Genie works through an updated server, so all the newest codes for the latest games will be ready to download the moment they become available.

We’ll tell you more about the Game Genie after we get our hands on it at E3 next week.
