The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority announced this morning that PAX East, the annual gaming convention that drew over 60,000 visitors last year will remain in Boston through 2023.

“We’re thrilled to host PAX East for at least ten more years,” said James E. Rooney, Executive Director of the MCCA in a statement released earlier today. “Hosting an event for the next decade that draws gamers from around the globe to Boston is fantastic, but the international attention it brings to the technological advancements coming out of the common wealth is a win-win.”

PAX East is the sister event of PAX Prime, the Seattle based gaming convention put on by the folks at Penny Arcade. This year’s PAX East will take place April 6-8.
