Microsoft announced this morning that it has pushed the release of Star Wars Kinect back from this coming holiday season until 2012.  The Star Wars themed Xbox has also been pushed back to coincide with the new release date. No concrete date has been announced.

“Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized,” a spokesperson told Official Xbox Magazine.

It’s not incredibly surprising, when we went hands on…errr…off with the title at this year’s E3, the game showed potential, but was marred by technical issues and questionable design choices.  Here’s hoping that the issues are fixed by next year.
