Adam Lambert will perform an acoustic version of his song “Aftermath” on the “American Idol” Thursday.

The 2009 runner-up of the “Idol” tweeted, “Hey guess what?! I will be performing ‘Aftermath’ on American Idol on Thursday, March 10! Gonna take it down acoustic style.” He also stated that the remixed track will be available on his official website the same day, which is also part of an effort to raise money for The Trevor Project. The song is a perfect fit for supporting the Trevor Project’s primary objectives of protecting, informing, and supporting LGTBQ teens.

The singer will drop his up-coming CD/DVD “Glam Nation Live” on March 22. It was shot during his show in Indianapolis, Indiana at Clowes Hall on August 31, 2010.

I’m so happy that Adam will be performing on Idol since the Grammy people neglected to give him that honor on THEIR show. “Aftermath” is a beautiful song and I’m hoping that the Billboard remix of it will get lots of airplay on the radio. Adam is an amazing man and an amazing performer whose live shows leave you mesmerized and in a happy trance for days afterward!

I am really excited that Adam will be performing on Idol. The Trevor Project is a great cause and this song is such a tribute to the kids/people out there that feel different and are struggling to find their way. Adam and his dear friends wrote it from the heart.
