Fox won Wednesday night on the heels of a 90 minute “American Idol,” which averaged a 7.7 in the demo. That’s up from the same period last year, where it earned a 7.5. Apparently rumors of “AI’s” demise have been greatly exaggerated. “Traffic Light” experienced a series high coming out of “Idol” with a 2.8 in the demo, though that’s unlikely to stave off cancellation.

“Modern Family” tied a season low with a 4.1 demo rating, though most shows would kill for that season low. “Mr. Sunshine” was up to a 2.4, good for renewal purposes.

After hitting a hiccup, “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” rose to a 2.8 in the demo; that likely means it will return.

NBC was in repeats for most of the evening; it was outwatched by the hispanic cable network Univision.
