Actor Bill Erwin dies at 96

Emmy-nominated actor Bill Erwin, who was remember as grumpy old man, Sid Fields, on a 1993 episode of “Seinfeld,” died at 96. Mr. Erwin passed away on Dec 29 at his Studio City, Calif., home.

Mr. Erwin appeared in movies, theater and television, including “Gunsmoke,” “The Twilight Zone,” “Perry Mason,” “The Golden Girls, Growing Pains,” “Who’s the Boss?” and “My Name Is Earl.”

Erwin is also known for his role as Arthur the bellman in the 1980’s film “Somewhere in Time.”
