Outside of his NY apartment, the incident happened when John Lennon, the former Beatle as well as “Imagine” singer, was 40 on December 8th, 1980. Mark David Chapman, who shot Lennon, ended up serving a prison sentence of 20 years to life.

Yoko Ono tweeted and shared some story with Lennon, “‘Yoko, Yoko, you’re supposed to first put the tea bags in, and then the hot water.’we both cracked up. That was in 1980. Neither of us knew that it was to be the last year of our life together.”
