The Bank of America branch on Fall River Avenue in Seekonk was robbed by a masked man early Monday afternoon.

Police responded just after 12:30 p.m. Witnesses said a man entered the bank wearing a white hoody and a lightly-colored bandana covering his face. He demanded money from the teller and made off with an unreleased amount of cash, according to Seekonk Police Captain Craig Mace.

Mace said the suspect left the bank and escaped in a green mini-van, which had been parked next to a nearby McDonalds. The van reportedly traveled onto Highland Avenue and then traveled westbound toward East Providence, R.I.

The van’s rear license plate may have been blocked.

Seekonk and nearby departments in Rhode Island searched, but neither the van nor the suspect were found.

Police circulated photos of the robbery hoping the public may recognize the robber. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Seekonk Police at 508-336-8123.
