He captured the hearts of many when he won the crown of American Idol last season, now Lee DeWyze will be releasing his first major label debut album on November 16th called Live It Up. Also, his first single “Live It Up” with debut on October 13th on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.”

DeWyze’s first album is a mix of pop, folk and rock. His acoustic guitar playing that helped him win American Idol will be a main feature on his album along with his rugged sounding voice. “I love hard-edged vocals over pretty melodies — that’s what I’m about. I really admire guys like Dave Matthews and Ray LaMontagne, and to now be on the same record label as them — it just blows my mind.”

DeWyze recorded most of the songs on the road and co wrote most of them. He also worked with the likes of Gad, John Shanks, and Espionage. The fact that he co-wrote most of the tracks off of Live It Up brings a feeling of accomplishment to DeWyze. “To see my name listed in the credits on each song was really important to me because I’m a songwriter,” DeWyze says.

“Putting out an album on a major label is truly a dream come true,” says 24-year-old DeWyze, a native of Mount Prospect, IL. “I’m excited for all the people who supported me throughout Idol to hear what I can do with my own songs. The album shows a whole different side of me and I’m so proud of it.”
