Hollywood Reporter is reporting (that’s what they do) that “Musical” star Zac Efron will show us his range when he stars in a remake of the gritty Swedish drug flick, “Snabba Cash.”

Several studios lined up to bid for the rights to make “Snabba Cash” in the US, with Warner winning the war.

The film plays out like “Traffic,” as it follows three interconnected story lines involving drugs and organized crime. A young man (Efron) hopes to get rich quick by becoming a cocaine runner.

If the film is successful, and all indications are that it will be, the young, blue-eyed Efron will grow well beyond his “High School Musical” days and into a real acting powerhouse.
