About a year ago I did an interview with a prominent Canadian journalist named Olivia Ward. Months before the interview she had written an article that named the 10 worst countries in which a woman could live. Our interview focuses on the troubles women face in various countries around the world, namely in Iraq.
I asked her about the situation in Iraq and how the lives of women have changed since and as a result of the American invasion. We also talked about the Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan and the then-recent UN Security Council declaration regarding sexual violence being a war crime.
