Curt Schilling, former Red Sox hurler, and head of Massachusetts-based 38 Studios, have long been working on an uber secret MMO with the code-name “Copernicus.” But today, through job listings for the title, we’ve gathered some interesting information.

The 2 job listings ask for a Senior PS3 Programmer and a Lead Art Director to work on a role-playing-game for the PlayStation 3.

38 Studios already has some serious in-house talent. Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, author R.A. Salvatore, Everquest desginer Travis McGeathy and a few other Oblivion developers are at Schilling’s disposal. You know, if they don’t do what he says, he can just whip out his bloody sock and say “see what I went through!”

[update, as reported by Kotaku] These listings are for 38’s newly acquired subsidiary Big Huge Games. They are working on transforming the Ken Rolston-led rpg “" formerly Ascendant “" into a single-player console role-playing-game set in the same universe as the Project Copernicus MMO for the PC. In short, the console versions seem to take place in the same universe as the PC version.
