[UPDATE] Or not, as Luke Plunkett of Kotaku points out. It’s a game being worked on for free, with no financial backing from the people who own the Twilight name. A fan made MMO, huh?

If Bella, Edward, and all the other hot undead from the Twilight book and movie series haven’t filled that vampire void of yours, enter Twilight: The Video Game, a recently announced digital endeavor hoping to complete the trifecta (book, movie, video game) recipe that other successful franchises (Harry Potter) have nailed so well.

We really don’t know much on the project as of yet, as the game’s website launched today, complete with, well, not too much. What we do know however is that the game will “allow players to immerse themselves into a deeper form of storytelling and adventure, gaining a deeper understanding of the Twilight saga…”

Sounds cool, but it gets better when the description lists the words “open” and “non-linear,” thus possibly proclaiming a deeper level to the game. But really, those are just words, until we get a hands-on we truly won’t know.

Furthermore, you’ll be able to experience the story through the perspectives of your most “beloved characters.” Who you love is up to you, but if I could get into Bella’s head (or pants), I’d be a happy dude.

Finally, both the Cullen household and Charlie’s house will serve as the games’ main hubs of activity and you’ll be able to deck out the interiors in any way you see fit.

The game’s description leaves us on somewhat of a cryptic note saying, “create your own character and play in multiplayer as a human, vampire, or werewolf.” Multiplayer? Like I shoot you, you shoot me multiplayer? Or social, MMO-type multiplayer? We have so many questions! For now, why don’t you go ahead and speculate, it’s all the rage.

When we learn more on this developing project we’ll be damn sure to send every last ounce of information your way, but for now, let us know in the comments what you hope for out of this Twilight game.

Um yeah…this is being made by a westwood online college student…its gonna be horrible. Wow…shocking an MMO their is something new and interesting. He has no money, and if you read some of the responses he wrote they are very generic, what anyone who read the twilight books would say. Nothing on game development theory or layout. No money = no graphics and a crapload of bugs…and he is definitely just mooching of the successs of the movie and is gonna want you to pay him to do it.

I dont like the consept of the game in progress, but i would LOVE for them to make video games out of the books/movie. My friends and i were thinking that they should keep to the story line if they make a video game and have it something like this: beginning of game, video clip of Bella moving to Forks, first area is the high school, where she has to find all the people like Angela, Ben, Mike, Jessica, then another clip of when she meet edward, so on with when she goes to Port An, where you have to travel around and ask people where the bookstore is, edward comes and saves her, she learns he’s a vampire, you can play the vampire baseball, and then theres the fight scenes with James. They can follow all 4 books story lines(excluding things like Bella’s giving birth to Renesmee, but seriously, its would make for a GREAT video game, make it to where you can switch between players for certain things like:
EDWARD: use Edward’s mindreading talent to pick information from everyone in order to get past certain obstacles in the game, or to unlock secret codes.
ALICE: use Alice’s visions to also get past certain obstacles in the game, You have to find out what the vision means in order to progress through the game.
JASPER: use Jasper’s talent in certain places to calm vampires/humans in order to get trough certain areas.
ROSALIE:(I know she doesnt have a talent but this is useful) use Rosalie beauty as STUN in combat, (use this ability in things like, Hunting/combat).
EMMETT: use Emmett’s brawn to break through certain obstacles.
ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE PLAYABLE WHENEVER, YOU CAN ONLY CONTROL 1 AT A TIME, BUT ALL CHARACTERS CAN FIGHT.

You see how this can be a video game, even use later characters like Benjamin to use his elemental control in combat, or Zafrina’s illusions to “blind” enemies for a few seconds. Even make the wolves controlable, like have Bella as the main character and wherever she goes, you can control the other character around her, like Jacob, and others. Also make an evil/arena mode, where you can play as the Volturi, Cullens, The Pack, James-Victoria-Laurent, The Denalai’s, The Irish, The Egyptians, The Romanians, The Amazons, or The Nomads, see how GREAT a video game this would be, but i dont like the consept of the one they are making.

ATTENTION ALL: SORRY TO BE THE BEARER OF BAD NEWS, BUT THE TWILIGHT VIDEO GAME CONCEPT HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN. AS A HUGE FAN, THIS SADDENS ME. ALTHOUGH THIS FRANCHISE SHOULD BRING OUT A VIDEO GAME IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

    SORRY ALL,

    CHE HUBBARD.
